AHDB Pork delivered 13,248 hours of training across a wide range of different subjects last year, hitting a total which was much higher than the organisation had anticipated.
“The amount of training we delivered far exceeded my expectations,” said skills development co-ordinator, Sam Bowsher. “It really does show how important the industry believes training to be and how everybody in the pig industry is embracing the development of staff.”
Ms Bowsher (pictured above) added that current training courses were aimed at helping the sector to “grow” new staff, develop those already in the industry to help them progress as well as taking those who are already experienced and giving them a “helping hand” to the next level.
AHDB Pork’s newly-published training calendar can be downloaded from the organisation’s website, with the new season due to start soon.
