Farmers and other livestock industry employers have been asked by AHDB to comment on the standards that need to be set for the new stockperson trailblazer apprenticeship.
“The new apprenticeship scheme is a tremendous opportunity to make sure that training is relevant to the skills that we believe are critical to the business,” said AHDB Pork Chair, Meryl Ward (pictured above).
“Investing in apprenticeships is good for the business as the apprentice develops consistent quality skills and becomes an important member of the team quicker, but also good for the trainee who receives a recognised certificate and hopefully job satisfaction from a job well done.”
The new trailblazer apprenticeship standards have been drawn up by an industry working group and supported by AHDB, LANTRA, the NFU, Agriskills and EDGE Careers.
