Danish Crown has announced that its subsidiary, Tulip Ltd., is to “make some changes to its operational footprint in the UK”.
“The company proposes to expand production of cooked bacon at its Bodmin site in Cornwall, while transferring all production of cooked meats from Bodmin to alternative sites within the UK,” said Danish Crown. “This is due to commercial as well as operational considerations.
“The management at Tulip Ltd has this week informed employees at the affected sites about the proposals and will now enter into a period of collective consultation with employee representatives at Bodmin.
“The purpose of these consultations is to discuss alternative proposals, ways of avoiding redundancies and/or reducing the number of employees affected. Approximately 400 employees are at risk of redundancy.”
