The trade deal to sell trotters to China is currently on hold while microbiologocal testing is carried out on the the UK abattoirs seeking to supply the Far East country.
Speaking at the Pig & Poultry Fair, he said the tests would take until the end of June and then the results would be sent to China for review. A decision would then follow in due course.
Mr Sloyan also siad that pork exports from the UK would hit more than £350 million this year, and that this meant the export market was worth £32 for each slaughter pig.
