New AHDB Pork vet, Lucy Coyne, has focused on antimicrobials during her university and practice training and is looking to continue working on the issue in her new job.
“I became fascinated by antimicrobials while working on my PhD and wanted to continue in the same vein,” said Ms Coyne (pictured above). “That’s why the job with AHDB Pork really appealed.”
Having just completed her PhD at Liverpool University on the subject, she has joined AHDB Pork’s veterinary team, which is led by manager, Martin Smith.
“Antimicrobial usage and resistance are becoming more and more important and her knowledge in this area will be invaluable,” said Mr Smith. “Her expertise will be of great value to both AHDB Pork and the wider industry.”
