Leading Brexiteer, Andrea Leadsom, is the new Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, replacing Liz Truss who has become the new Justice Secretary.
Ms Leadsom, who was still a contender to become Prime Minister until Monday this week, was previously a junior energy minister.
Elected as MP for South Northamptonshire in 2010, the new Environment Secretary served on the Treasury Select Committee from July 2010 to May 2014 and on the Public Accounts Committee from May 2014 until March 2015.
She was appointed as Economic Secretary to the Treasury from April 2014 until May 2015 and Minister of State at the Department of Energy and Climate Change from May 2015 until July 2016.
Prior to becoming an MP, she worked in the banking and finance industry for 25 years, most recently as Head of Corporate Governance and Senior Investment Officer at Invesco Perpetual, one of the UK’s largest retail fund managers.
