Former Danish Crown CEO, Kjeld Johannesen, has joined Russia’s largest pork and beef producer, Miratorg, as an advisor to the board
Mr Johannesen, who stepped down as Danish Crown CEO in April this year, described Miratorg as a truly unique company which is aiming to become a “global player” in the meat industry.
“To achieve this goal we need to fine-tune the value chain in order to ensure the competitive pricing and uncompromised quality for our products,” he said, adding that Miratorg also needed to “understand deeply” both the needs and aspects of the international marketplace.
“I am glad to be joining the Miratorg team to help tackle these strategic tasks.”
Miratorg chairman, Alexandr Linnik, welcomed Mr Johannesen’s appointment, stating that his “unique experience, excellent expertise and deep understanding of the global meat market” will enhance the company’s position in the Russian market, while also helping the business with its development of “strategically important” export operations.
