NPA has launched a pig sector survey to gauge how reliant the industry is on migrant labour.
Designed to relate to pig farmers and any businesses connected to the pig industry, the survey is part of the Association’s preparation for discussing the industry’s post-Brexit labour concerns with the Government.
“The future availability of EU labour in the pig industry is one of our biggest concerns in the aftermath of the vote to leave the EU,” it is stated today on the NPA website.
“In order to make the strongest case possible to Government for policies that will allow the industry to continue accessing EU labour, we need to know, whether you are a farmer, processor or allied business, how much foreign labour you currently use, even if the answer is none!”
Survey participants will be anonymous.
