This morning’s pig sector focus from the BBC’s Farming Today programme was centred on the recently announced £7m investment in new pig research facilities at the University of Leeds, a project which is backed by the government-funded Centre for Innovation and Excellence in Livestock (CIEL).
Farming Today is taking a week-long look at the British pig industry, starting with yesterday’s industry overview feature with Pig World editor, Alistair Driver.
This morning’s report included an interview with the University of Leeds’ farm director, Professor Helen Miller, followed by a recorded walk through the university’s research facilities.
