Red Tractor Assurance has published the details of its new pork scheme requirement for member businesses to electronically record antibiotic data, a move which comes into force later this year.
Having announced its decision last week that Red Tractor pig producers must use the electronic medicine book (e-MB) to record the collated antibiotics they administer to their herds, the organisation’s new release gives farmers detailed guidance concerning what they will need to do next.
“This is a very important step forward for the pig industry,” commented NPA chief executive, Zoe Davies.
“The collection and collation of on-farm antibiotic usage data is a key commitment of the NPA’s Antibiotic Stewardship programme.”
