Auctioneer Peter Crichton has announced the sale on Saturday, March 28, of outdoor equipment from South Lynch Estates, Dorset, who have kept outdoors pigs on the Crichel Estate for a number of years.
“As producers throughout the south west will know, the winter of 2013/2014 proved to be a major challenge with near record levels of rainfall being received affecting the productivity of outdoor pig units throughout the West Country,” said Mr Crichton (pictured). “As a result, South Lynch Estates have decided to close down the herd and to auction their good quality outdoor pig equipment.”
The majority of the kit has been power washed and disinfected and the last pigs left the site on the December 12, 2014.
The sale includes six tractors and Telehandler, including four Ford 5120 Compact tractors. There’s also a wide selection of outdoor pig housing, additional machinery and equipment and four bulk feed bins varying in size from 9t to 12t.
“This is our only outdoor pig equipment auction booked in the South West and should provide potential local buyers with a wide selection of good quality outdoor pig kit on their doorstep,” said Mr Crichton.
Catalogues will be available soon via Peter Crichton’s website
