Prime Minister Theresa May has thanked the NPA for a recipe book showcasing Great British pork recipes sent as a Christmas gift.
The NPA decided to send Theresa May, along with other prominent Cabinet Ministers and politicians with an interest in the pig sector Christmas gifts of the Ladies in Pigs cook books.
The gift clearly went down well as Mrs May has sent a letter of thanks to the NPA. “I was delighted to receive this gift and I am very grateful to you for thinking of me,” she wrote.

NPA chairman Richard Lister said: “We are glad that Mrs May enjoyed our recipe book, showcasing the best of Red Tractor British pork, and grateful that she took the time to respond.
“There was also a serious message to our decision to send these gifts to prominent politicians at this critical time. Few sectors will be affected more by the Brexit deal than the iconic British pork industry. We are a forward-looking important sector of the economy that delivers a great product to high standards – the NPA will strive to ensure Brexit becomes an opportunity for further growth, rather than a threat to this vital sector.”
“We hope Mrs May now cooks up a good Brexit deal for our sector – as well as some delicious British pork recipes!”
