After months of planning, everything is set for the first National Pig Awards at the Royal Garden Hotel, in Kensington, on Tuesday November 4.
Organised by Pig World, in association with BPEX, the NPA and BPA, these awards are to promote excellence and recognise achievement and good practice in the UK pig industry.
The award categories that will be presented on the night have been designed to reflect the priorities of a modern pig business.
The evening will include an auction to raise money for industry charity The Farming Community Network, and the main speaker will be Martin Bayfield, England rugby legend, BT sport presenter and body double for Hagrid in the Harry Potter films. Martin is a highly rated and entertaining after-dinner speaker.
The organisers were delighted with the number and quality of the entries, which came from all parts of the UK. An experienced panel of judges, chaired by Andrew Knowles of BPEX, has completed an exhaustive process to identify worthy finalists and subsequently winners. This included a number of farm visits, so every finalist and every winner will have earned their recognition.
This has proved to be a popular event and will be very well attended. However, tickets are still available at £165 per ticket and £1,500 per table of 10. To buy tickets please call 01825 983105
