As the Tour de Yorkshire first day sprint nears the finish line on Thursday, television viewers will get a visual treat courtesy of a new specialist pig cafe.
The four day race, featuring some of the world’s top cyclists, starts on Thursday, May 3.
Anna Longthorp’s new cafe, Anna’s Happy Kitchen, happens to be on the sprint finish line on day 1, near Howden, in East Yorkshire.
The cafe opens today and to mark the occasion, it has, in conjunction with Howden Rotary Club, laid down some pig art that will be picked up by the race’s aerial cameras.
“This is a fantastic event showcasing the best of Yorkshire and we are right on the finish line so, given that the cafe opens this week, we thought it would be a good idea to get some landart for helicopter coverage,” Anna said.
“It was done by our head butcher and his extremely talented wife and hopefully it will entice a few cyclists and race fans in for a bite and show the rest of the world we’re here!”
Anna has been marketing free range pork under the Anna’s Happy Trotters brand for a number of years and has now taken it on a step further with the opening of a new new cafe.
