Defra Secretary Michael Gove is staying at Defra, according to the latest reports.
Mr Gove’s future as Defra Secretary was clouded in doubt as the fallout from the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement continues.
He was said to have been offered the role of Brexit Secretary, to replace Dominic Raab, who resigned yesterday. But he made it clear he would only take on the role if he was given the opportunity to re-negotiate the deal in Brussels.
After Mrs May refused to this, he turned down the job offer and is now said to be considering whether to carry on as Defra Secretary, according to multiple media reports.
But on Friday morning, it was reported that he will be continuing in the Defra role.
