BOCM PAULS International Division has further expanded and strengthened its sales operations in Denmark with the appointment of well-known pig breeding equipment suppliers Unitron, at Torring, as a distributor for the company’s range of specialist baby pig feeds.
The move follows a period of trials and in-depth assessment of the Vitostart range of piglet and pre-starter feeds specially developed to increase the numbers of piglets born and reared per sow. BOCM PAULS – part of Dutch group ForFarmers – has been supplying high-performance piglet diets in Denmark for more than 10 years, trading mainly in the north of Jutland and is now aiming at increasing its presence in a market which is world renowned for the production levels of its sows in terms of piglets produced and reared.
Successful trials on commercial pig units have led to a new long-term distributorship agreement with Unitron becoming the exclusive distributor for BOCM PAULS’ range of pig feeds in Denmark. The new partnership of BOCM PAULS and Unitron will continue to work in conjunction with historical BOCM PAULS partners, Vestjaydsk Agro and Salling Grovvarrer. The trio of companies will now provide comprehensive coverage of the main pig producing regions in Denmark that have about one million breeding sows producing more than 25 million slaughter pigs.
The Vitostart range of diets caters for pre-weaned pigs of one week of age through to 30kg. There’s also a number of complete feeds available together with concentrated (PowerPac) diets that enable producers to use their own cereals in the production of high quality pig feed. Unitron’s technical sales team, backed by BOCM PAULS, will provide on-farm support to this important market sector.
Unitron has more than 25 years’ experience in assisting and supplying pig breeders and boar stations all over the world and has established a reputation for its pioneering work in the field of artificial insemination and its use on farms.
