BPEX is urging all pig producers, stockmen and vets to attend a series of regional meetings titled How pork safety is about to impact the security of your business.
The four meetings, beginning on December 9, feature new information from the AHVLA on how the EU pork safety landscape is changing; it’s an emerging risk to English pig businesses that all producers need to know about.
Pig vet David Chennells will discuss what pig producers can do to safeguard their biosecurity and their business, and there will be a revealing insight into what the pork buyers think about pork safety from BPEX foodservice trade sector manager, Tony Goodger.
The AHVLA’s Rob Davies will also lead a frank discussion about salmonella control and practical ways to manage it on farm.
The meetings dates are:
Monday, December 9: Sandburn Hall, York
Tuesday, December 10: Southgreen Park, Dereham
Wednesday, December 11: Sparsholt College, Winchester
Thursday, December 12: Gipsy Hill Hotel, Exeter
