Mitsubishi Motors has responded to industry pressure by saying it will not be associating itself with a controversial Channel 4 documentary, following pressure from the NPA and others across the industry.
The NPA, the Association of Independent Meat Suppliers (AIMS) and a growing number of individuals on social media called on the vehicle manufacturer to act as widespread anger was voiced across the farming industry over the documentary entitled, โHow to Steal Pigs and Influence Peopleโ, due to be broadcast on Tuesday.
Amanda Gibson, the companyโs press & public relations manager, said: โMitsubishi Motors in the UK is a proud sponsor of Documentaries on Channel 4 but occasionally the subject matter can cause upset.
โWe try to remain neutral on emotive topics. However, the upcoming documentary โHow to Steal Pigs and Influence Peopleโ has the potential to cause distress therefore we will not be associating ourselves with this documentary.
โMitsubishi Motors in the UK does not condone criminality or illegal and irresponsible activity in any form. We have no contact whatsoever with any of the participants of this documentary and do not support their actions.โ
