Scottish Pig Producers have appointed Roderic Bruce as their new Chair at their last Board meeting.
Mr Bruce farms near Ellon and takes over from Patrick Stephen at the head of the farmers’ cooperative. He also chairs the Board of Quality Pork Ltd, the company that owns the processing plant at Brechin.
Greg Davidson-Gall who farms near Peterhead was also elected as Vice-Chair, the role previously held by Roderic Bruce.
Roderic Bruce, SPP Chair commented on his appointment: “It is a real honour to chair the Board of Scottish Pig Producers, one of Scotland’s most successful farming cooperatives that has helped the pig industry to thrive in Scotland and Northern Ireland. We are fortunate to have such a strong enthusiastic Board to steer the group through the uncertain times that lie ahead.
“I look forward to continuing the great work undertaken by Patrick Stephen who has overseen a significant improvement in the resilience of the sector over the past seven years and we are delighted that he is remaining on the Board.“
