YNPA members and supporters have already racked up more than 500 miles on foot, bike and even horse as part of the YNPA Challenge 21.
The challenge is aiming to raise money for the Farming Community Network (FCN), which continues to support farmers and their families through difficult times.
It started last week and will run to June 21, with the initial aim of collectively covering 883 miles to raise £883 for FCN (the figure represents the distance between the NPA ‘Put British Pork on Your Fork’ banners from the furthest north to south and east to west).
The group, some of which are undertaking the challenge in custom made pink t-shirts, has just topped the 500-mile mark, and they intend to keep going and raise as much money for FCN as possible.
How to take part, donate – and sponsor
There is still time to take part – it’s open to everyone so you don’t have to be a YNPA member.
- Just email Andrea – andrea.tranter@npanet.org.uk, who will forward details, and donate £10 to the dedicated Just Giving Page – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ynpachallenge21
- Or you can simply just show your support for those who are taking part via the Just Giving page.
- Our allied industry members can play their parts, too, by becoming a sponsor. Many thanks to Quality Equipment, which is kindly donating £2/mile for the 158.64 miles covered on Sunday. Again, if you want to add your name as a sponsor, just email Andrea.
- For social media users, keep an eye out for the hashtags #YNPAChallenge21 and #PutBritishPorkOnYourFork to keep up with progress!
And if you haven’t seen it yet, take a look at the NPA’s new PutBritishPorkOnYourFork website, which is highlighting to consumers the many reasons to choose British pork.
