Porcilis Health Management Vet Academy has been launched to support and promote the development of veterinary surgeons working in the pig sector.
The 12-month continuing professional development (CPD) programme will be delivered by MSD Animal Health UK and will feature a range of seminars specially designed for veterinary professionals.
The monthly seminars will be suitable for all vets, but particularly any who are new to pig medicine. Each seminar will be worth two to three hours of CPD time, with certificates available for all participants.
The seminars will be delivered by Rubén Del Pozo Sacristán, technical manager for pigs at MSD Animal Health UK. Mr Sacristán said the series of seminars will focus on common and demanding production challenges and diseases facing pig producers.
He commented: “Of the 12 seminars we have planned, we’re hoping to hold four of these in a face-to-face capacity, with dinner included for those who attend, to allow for networking and further discussion.
“As we appreciate how important peer-to-peer discussions are within the industry, the academy will also offer a fantastic platform to facilitate knowledge exchange between those who work in the pig veterinary industry,”
