Popular Amazon TV series Clarkson’s Farm returns for its third series today, with a major new focus on pigs as the Oxfordshire farm’s newest venture.
“I’ve got a new idea – pigs,” Jeremy announces in the trailer, which goes onto highlight that, inevitably, the new venture did not turn out to be as straightforward as he hoped, along with virtually everything else on the farm.
“Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong,” he added, a sentiment many farmers will have shared at some point, in this case a reference to the weather, more challenges with the local council planning authorities, failing machinery and the impact of the war in Ukraine on input costs, among other things.
The first programme returns to Diddly Squat ‘to find the farm in turmoil’, after the council shut down the restaurant and with the weather making planting crops impossible and costs are on the up.
Part of the plan to get his farm through the year is the introduction of some Oxford Sandy & Black pigs, which make their first appearance in Episode 2.
