The 2019 Chris Brant Award is open for nominations.
The NPA award, won last year by Rita Wells, who was honoured for her ‘sustained and unsung’ work with pigs and with Ladies in Pigs (LIPs), will be presented at the National Pig Awards in November.
Launching the award on the NPA website, Digby Scott wrote: “Those who win the Chris Brant Award are not a bit special — they’re very, very special because it means their peers in the industry have recognised all the graft they’ve put in over the years, without the slightest expectation of praise.
“And the fact we get so many nominations every year is testament to the number of outstanding people in this outstanding industry.
“It doesn’t matter if you nominate someone you’ve nominated before. The judges still want to hear from you. And your nomination doesn’t have to be the length of War and Peace… just jot down enough to help the judges make an informed choice.”
