The 2024 NPA Chris Brant Award has been awarded to ARM Buildings’ Tim Miller in recognition of the great work he has been doing on farrowing systems over the past year or so.
Tim was a popular winner when he received the accolade from NPA chairman Rob Mutimer at the National Pig Awards on Monday night.
Announcing Tim as the winner, NPA chairman Rob Mutimer said: “He is well known and beloved throughout the sector for his unbounding knowledge and expertise on ventilation, buildings, equipment and farrowing systems
“But what many don’t realise is the time and effort he dedicates to the sector whether that is via various groups, committees and meetings or the support he regularly and unquestioningly provides to organisations like NPA, quietly and behind the scenes.
“His recent contribution regarding farrowing systems and his voluntary assistance to John Mackinnon in engaging with producers to facilitate visits to their pig units to be able to produce such an important review that will undoubtably help the sector design its future direction, as well as the consistent and ongoing guidance and advice provided to the team, to the Buildings Suppliers Forum, Red Tractor, AHDB and beyond cannot be underestimated and is testament to his willingness to go above and beyond.
“Tim deserves to be recognised for the value he has added to the pig sector, and I’m sure will be a popular choice by many.”
The Chris Brant Award, named after the legendary pig farmer who died in 2019, recognises those who have ‘gone the extra mile’ for the industry over the past 12 months.
