British pig and poultry compound feed manufacturer, ABN, has announced the acquisition of its mill facility site in Penrith, Cumbria, as part of its plan to strengthen and maintain a strong and sustainable supply chain.
ABN said its purchase of the Langwathby Mill highlighted its continued investment in the business and the wider industry, reflecting its long-term commitment to this crucial part of its national estate.
Langwathby Mill is one of ABN’s ten manufacturing sites across the UK since they began producing feed in 2016. Since then, the mill site has been instrumental in the safe and efficient supply of high-quality pig and poultry feeds.
ABN general manager, Danny Johnson, said: “It is vital that we meet the changing needs of our key partners, and we are continually exploring to improve our manufacturing footprint.”
He said the acquisition helps to ‘secure a long-term platform for growth and enables us to strengthen and support our customer partnerships, both now and for the future’ and will ‘further support that drive within the north-west region to meet the various needs of pig and poultry producers’.
Langwathby Mill produces a range of pig and poultry feeds, providing improved nutrition, feed formulation and manufacture, ABN said.
