The AgriLeader Labour Life Cycle campaign is assisting farmers in becoming ‘the employer of choice’, with a series of webinars and on-line resources.
Designed to help farmers find the right person, with the right skills, for the job, the campaign features a library of on-line resources that deliver information for the entire recruitment cycle: recruitment, onboarding, managing, developing, and progressing.
The resources focus on topics such as writing a job advert, performing interviews, and building staff handbooks, plus, delegating, motivating and coaching.
The campaign will be supported by a series of five webinars, featuring expert insights and advice, as well as events and four case study farmers from various sectors.
The campaign is part of the wider AHDB AgriLeader programme and encourages farmers to take proactive steps in better managing their employees and, ultimately, better leading themselves, their people, and their businesses.
Leader of the programme, Izak Van Heerden said: “Trying to find the right people, with the rights skills, at the right time is one of the most frequent topics of conversation amongst farmers these days – highlighting that labour is one of the biggest challenges farmers are currently facing.
“That is why the AgriLeader team have pulled together a number of resources to help farmers become “the employer of choice” by taking those first small steps. Whether you like to listen, read, watch or do, the Labour Lifecycle resources has something for everyone, and for whichever stage of the employment cycle you’re at, the AHDB’s Labour Lifecycle offers value to your farming business.”
