More than 10,000 farmers and industry professionals will be heading to Warwickshire this week to visit the 2018 British Pig & Poultry Fair.
The bi-annual event, which takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 15 and 16, at Stoneleigh Park, is the industry’s flagship event. With more than 360 exhibitors it is a key date in the diary for anybody wanting to assess the latest innovations out there, catch up on industry developments and meet colleagues and industry friends.
Pig World is pleased to be the event’s pig media partner – and you will be able to find us on Stand 71, alongside the NPA and opposite AHDB Pork.
At the end of the first day, Pig World will be presenting the Fair’s New Product Award, reflecting a new and original product that the judges believe stands to deliver significant long-term benefit to the pig industry. The award was won in 2016 by Rattlerow’s Aardvark.
Innovation is always at the heart of the event, with more than 50 products set to be featured on the Fair’s New Products Innovation Trail.
As ever there will be a choice of seminars running across both days, including the Pig Outlook seminar at 11am on both days, featuring Tulip’s Andrew Saunders and the NPA’s Ed Barker and chaired by Pig World Alistair Driver.
You can find more information on the seminars here.
Andrew Lazenby, chief executive of the Royal Agricultural Society of England, said: “The pig industry is changing fast, with technical developments and shifting consumer demands presenting many opportunities for forward-thinking producers.
“As your industry event, the Fair has been designed to help your business stay ahead with the latest market outlooks, top tips from leading producers and all the new research and cutting-edge technology. It has everything you need under one roof.
“This year, the Fair has brought together some top forum speakers, with topics ranging from the market outlook for pigs to making better use of data to drive traceability. In addition, RASE and Innovation for Agriculture (IfA) are supporting a forum on reducing antibiotic use in pigs – an important topic that the industry is keen to tackle.”
ABN is again partnering the event. Bob Dixon, the company’s national sales manager for pig feed, said: “Clearly, networking and partnerships are an essential element of the British Pig & Poultry Fair.
“I wholeheartedly believe that this industry thrives on having strong relationships within the supply chain and the British Pig & Poultry Fair offers an ideal opportunity to strengthen links with customers and come together with peers to learn from each other and see the latest developments.”
