Former Pilgrim’s UK agriculture director Andrew Saunders will be joining Rattlerow shortly as chairman of Lawson Partners Ltd.
Mr Saunders, who left Pilgrim’s in 2021, has worked across all areas of the supply chain during a distinguished career in the pig industry.
He enjoys a long history with Rattlerow stretching back over 40 years, having been appointed to his first role within the UK pig industry by Phillip Lawson in 1978.
He went on to become agriculture director of Tulip UK Ltd/Pilgrims overseeing one of the UK’s largest pig production businesses (BQP) and managing director of Dalehead Foods. He also served on BPEX and the British Meat Processors Association over a number of years.
Together with Robert and Adrian Lawson, he will help in guiding the LPL Group over the coming years.
The breeding company said his unique insight into the pig supply chain, working closely with retailers as well as his wider farming knowledge and experience, will be a real asset to the Group. “Securing Andrew as our non-executive Chair also reflects our commitment to the future. His appointment underscores our continued focus on building a team that truly understands the customers we serve and the nature of the industry in which we operate,” Rattlerow said.
Mr Saunders said: “I am delighted to be joining the Board of Lawson Partners Ltd. Philip Lawson gave me my first opportunity within the industry and I have watched with interest over the years as Rattlerow Farms and their Group companies have expanded. I am excited to be working with the Group to help capture future opportunities in the coming years.”
