A Chair and up to four external members for the Animal Disease Surveillance Governance Board is being sought by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).
The board is a new advisory group being established as part of the changes that APHA is making to its veterinary scanning surveillance system.
A sub-committee to the Animal Health and Welfare Board for England, and the Wales Animal Health and Welfare Framework Group, the new board will advise Defra and Welsh Government on the best use of the funding they make available to provide England and Wales with an “effective animal health surveillance system” which also “retains the confidence of the animal keeping sectors” and enables Government to meet its national and international obligations.
APHA says that candidates will be “strategic, innovative thinkers, able to build strong partnerships and investigate complex issues, reaching impartial and evidence based decisions”.
