A scholarship scheme offering an opportunity for individuals to pursue a short term project focusing on livestock health and welfare and the agricultural industry has been launched by the Edinburgh-based Moredun Foundation.
Three scholarships, worth of up to £1,000 each, are being made available to Moredun members over the age of 18 living in the UK. The successful candidates will be given until August 2016 to complete their work with an obligation to provide a 2000-word written report for publication and dissemination by the Foundation.
“These scholarships are a great way for those in the livestock industry to pursue a short term project or further develop their knowledge of livestock health,” said Moredun Foundation chairman, Ian Duncan Millar.
The scholarships reflect the founding ethos of the Moredun Foundation which was established by a group of Scottish farmers in 1920 with the purpose of preventing and controlling infectious diseases of livestock through research and education.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday, June 30, 2015.
