A new operator has taken over the British Pig health Scheme (BPHS) contract assessments following a re-tendering process carried out by AHDB Pork.
The contract has moved from Vetscore to HallMark, despite AHDB Pork Veterinary team manager Dr Martin Smith stating that Vetscore has done an “excellent job for which we are extremely grateful”.
“However, AHDB regularly reviews all its contracts and this one was re-tendered to ensure we continue to get good value for money for the levy payer,” he said. “The result was that HallMark won.”
Dr Smith (pictured above) said the service will continue during the handover period and that producers should notice no difference.
