Tulip Ltd is increasing the capacity of its Ruskington operation in Lincolnshire with an £8m cash injection which will expand the site’s production area by around 25%.
Claimed to be the largest supplier of Scotch eggs and cocktail sausages to the UK’s retail sector, the Ruskington operation will also be fitted with a new production line and given upgrades to existing power, waste and refrigeration plant.
Site director, Phil Wheatcroft, said the planned investment will ensure that “we can further strengthen our position as an industry leader in the production of fried savoury products for the retail market whilst providing us with the opportunity to grow our existing foodservice customer base”.
Work has already started on extending Ruskington’s production area with completion targeted for April 2015.
