Preparing grain growers and feed users for what life will be like in the UK’s post-referendum agricultural world, will be the dominant theme of next month’s grain market outlook conference in London.
Due to take place on October 12, the event will also focus on grain sector productivity, consolidation and efficiency, issues which conference hosts, AHDB, says are becoming “ever more prevalent” in the wake of the UK’s Brexit vote.
In line with previous years, the 2016 conference format will feature four presentations by grain sector specialists who will give an “exclusive and unique analysis of cereal and oilseeds markets from a UK perspective, highlighting long-term trends and delving into the depths of market influences”.
This year’s top four are:
- AHDB cereals & oilseeds lead analyst, Jack Watts (pictured above) – 2016/17 Grain market outlook;
- Stratégie/Tallage biofuel & oilseed market analyst, Christophe Cogny – 2016/17 Oilseeds market outlook;
- AHDB head of strategic insight, David Swales – Brexit: Making sense of the long term challenge ahead; and
- Agri Benchmark’s Samuel Ferreira Balieiro – Exploring international competitiveness in grain and oilseed.
