Producers are being asked to allow a little time when the new Pig Hub launches later this week.
BPEX database manager Jenny Newman said it was important to stress that the first time producers use it they will have to check to make sure all their information is correct.
“This should take only a few minutes and will make everything easier and faster in the future,” she added. “Work is also under way to link Pig Hub through to Real Welfare data so producers can find everything they need in one place.”
The objective is to have a single, accurate database for the industry that keeps abreast of changes in ownership or management of individual pig units with producers in control of updating their own data.
To get everything up and running for the launch on June 18, the eAML2 service will not be available overnight on June 17.
