The July dispersal sale of outdoor pig and livestock equipment from Glen Humber’s 450-sow herd in Somerset yielded a “firm demand” from a gathering of 110 registered buyers, according to auctioneer Peter Crichton.
“Glen had worked hard to set out his relatively modern equipment, most of which had been purchased from new over the past six years, and the auction attracted buyers from a wide area,” said Mr Crichton, adding that the sale saw equipment travelling to East Anglia, the Midlands and the North West, with “every single lot of pig kit sold”.
The top individual sale price was £11,800, paid for a 2012 Zetor 100HP Proxima tractor and loader, for which there was “plenty of competition”.
