More details have emerged of the Stamper Farms auction in Norfolk (IP24 2PL) on December 6, which will be the largest sale auctioneer Peter Crichton has handled to date.
There will be about 1,400 lots on offer on the day, with the start time brought forward to ensure eveything can be sold before the sun goes down.
Stamper Farms has kept pigs at West Farm, Barnham, since 1991, but due to a change of farming policy it has decided to close down its outdoor pig unit.
This move will bring to the market more than 260 farrowing arcs and 180 jumbo and dry sow arcs, together with weaner kennels, fenders galore, wallow troughs and the like.
Â
Other pig equipment and machinery includes two Peter Allen 3t Rotafeeders, two Morgan 18ft pig movement trailers, four feed trailers, a line of eight Rowlands 16t bulk feed bins and a whole host of other useful equipment.
The sale also includes a choice selection of tractors with two 2004 John Deere 6220 tractors, one 2006 John Deere 6120, one 2008 John Deere 6530 and a 2002 JCB 526-S telehandler.
All of the kit has been power-washed and disinfected and should provide outdoor pig keepers with a rare chance to purchase such a wide range of useful and good quality equipment.
Â
Telephone and commission bids are welcome for those unable to attend the sale, and no buyer’s premium will be charged.
