A free conference focusing on meat supply chain issues, including a discussion of the EU draft legislation for food chain information (FCI) in relation to pigmeat, will be held at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, next month.
Organised by AHDB’s beef, lamb and pork divisions (EBLEX and BPEX), the event will cover the latest Food Standards Agency (FSA) projects for improving FCI, the collection and communication of inspection results (CCIR) and reporting systems and the discussion of the draft FCI for pigs.
“Our aim is to continue to help the meat industry and the FSA to support improvements to food safety, animal health and welfare and productivity,” said AHDB business development manager, Christine Walsh.”This is a timely opportunity for the meat processing sector to get involved to discuss and influence the type of information to be captured and how it can be best transferred up and down the meat supply chain.”
The conference will be held on Tuesday, June 2, while the deadline to register for attendance is Tuesday, May 26.
