The Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) has announced a strong line-up for its annual conference. Agribusiness 2015, which takes as its theme Growing the sustainable agrisupply chain’, will take place on November 12, 2014, at the East of England Showground.
Farming Today presenter Sybil Ruscoe will be chairing the conference and will be joined, among others, by Defra Minister, George Eustice; UK Independence Party MEP Stuart Agnew; NFU president Meurig Raymond; and AHDB chairman Peter Kendall. Other speakers are Suzanne Pera of Rabobank International and the general manager of the Cool Farming Institute, Richard Heathcote.
The managing director of AIC Services, John Kelley, said sustainability was a much used, often abused, term today.
“In addressing the subject at Agribusiness 2015, we start from the premise that a sustainable business is one that operates efficiently and profitably, delivering benefits to shareholders, employees, customers, other stakeholders and the environment,” he added.
“AIC’s Agribusiness conference has become a must attend’ event in the industry and in the past these conferences have helped to set the agenda for the year ahead. Given the line-up for this year’s event, I am sure that will once more prove to the case.”
