Some excellent nominations have already been received for the 2017 Chris Brant Award – and there is still plenty of time to get yours in, according to chair of the judging panel, Richard Longthorp.
While happy with what has been received so far, Mr Longthorp is of the mind that the industry could be doing more when it comes to nominating the ‘extra milers’ for 2017.
Any apathy out there would be ‘a poor reflection of the legacy of Chris Brant who simply didn’t have a strand of ‘apathy DNA’ in his body’, he wrote in a post on the NPA forum.
“It would also be an unforgivable missed opportunity to recognise one of those fantastic people who have and continue to go the extra mile for our British Pig Industry,” he added.
The 2017 award will again be presented at the prestigious National Pig Awards ceremony in London in November.
