Pig farmers are being sought to test a new diagnostic tool that could help detect a range of pig diseases.
A team of scientists and researchers at ProtonDx and Imperial College London is developing an innovative pen-side device that that can detect diseases like PRRS and influenza on-site in less than 20 minutes.
They are looking for farmers and vets to provide feedback on this early-stage device.
What’s involved?
- The research team will visit your farm or practice within the next three months.
- They’ll learn about how you currently manage diseases and explore how pen-side testing could help.
- You’ll get to see and provide feedback on a prototype device – your input will directly shape its development!
“Your participation is entirely voluntary, and all information shared will remain confidential. The team will work around your schedule and comply fully with biosecurity requirements,” said Anna Mariani, a research assistant, at Imperial.
