We are pleased to announce more high profile speakers for 2019’s major pig industry event, Pigs Tomorrow, which takes place near Leicester in May
Two industry heavyweights have been added to the list of speakers for the International Outlook Conference on Day One of Pigs Tomorrow.
The event will take place just a few weeks after our scheduled departure from the EU and Tulip’s Andrew Saunders (pictured below) and leading global meat analyst Richard Brown will be aiming to shed some light on the pig sector’s outlook in this unprecedented period of upheaval in the UK’s history.
Mr Saunders, Tulip’s agriculture director and managing director of Dalehead Foods, will deliver the perspective from one of the UK’s major pork processors, outlining the immediate challenges of Britain’s new status and analysing the long-term opportunities.
Mr Saunders is well-placed to address these headline issues, with responsibility for BQP’s pig production business covering 500 farms in East Anglia, South West and the Midlands, covering all aspects from grain supply to the abattoir through to customers.
He is also a member of the Danish Crown Pig Supply Group and chairs the British Meat Processors Association pig meat committee.
Mr Brown (pictured above), a director of Gira, the international food research and consultancy firm, since 1991, has vast knowledge of the global meat sector and the current trends and tensions within the marketplace.
Working across a wide range of projects in the meat sector around the world, he will deliver valuable insight into where the major opportunities lie in this global market and the pitfalls the industry needs to be wary of.
Pig World publisher Simon Lewis said: “We are delighted to be able to present speakers of this calibre to inform and entertain delegates at Pigs Tomorrow. More speakers for the International Outlook Conference and the Innovation Conference on Day Two will be announced in the run up to the event.”
Pigs Tomorrow will also feature an exhibition of industry stands and plenty of networking, plus a gala dinner on the first night featuring entertainment and a high- profile guest speaker, who will be announced in the coming weeks.

Richard Brown, director, Gira;
