Pig producers are reminded that today is the last chance to apply for Slurry Infrastructure grants.
The first stage of the application process is an online checker. You can find it on Defra’s Slurry Infrastructure, grant page. The checker provides an easy way of establishing whether you’re eligible for a grant and how much funding you could get.
Defra has published full guidance for the new Slurry Infrastructure grant, which sets out who can apply, what the grant can pay for and the information you’ll need to provide when you apply.
- The deadline for applications is today, January 31.
If the scheme is oversubscribed, RPA will identify which applications have a higher environmental benefit based on the priority areas shown in MAGIC.
This will be based on location and proximity to areas where action is most needed to reduce pollution from agriculture. Those invited to make a full application will then need to submit details about their project.
Defra held a webinar to discuss the grant on December 7. You can watch a recording of it here.
NPA view
While many pig producers are not eligible for this first round of grants due to the six-months storage specification, NPA chief executive Lizzie Wilson has explained why she expects more opportunities for pig producers in future rounds.
