Pork processor Karro Food, which has hired 278 new workers at its Malton site since the start of lockdown, has extended its recruitment initiative to help meet the increased demand for food from supermarkets and comes at a time when many people are facing an uncertain future.
Karro are also offering employment for people with limited experience offering full training. For example, four trainees who started with the business 8 weeks ago have been trained and promoted to semi-skilled butchers, increasing their weekly earning potential.
Steve Ellis, CEO at Karro, said: “We have some great skilled, well paid jobs to support the community in these uncertain times and will offer full training for less experienced candidates.”
The pork processor has said to anyone looking for permanent or temporary employment to get in touch.
