Details of a new pulled pork promotion campaign, to be run in Spring 2015, will be outlined during the five-venue BPEX regional producer events, starting later this month.
The focus of the new campaign will be on pulled pork, with the declared aim being to “start rejuvenating the image of pork among younger consumers”.
“Extensive research showed that pork has a comparatively poor image, particularly among younger people who don’t know how to cook it,” said BPEX head of marketing, Kirsty Walker, adding that, at the same time, consumer research indicated that pulled pork was a dish people were keen to know more about.
More campaign details, plus an update on the new BPEX marketing strategy, will share the agenda at the up-coming regional meetings with a technical look at look at how to optimise the amount of pigmeat sold per square metre.
