A series of videos, including one dealing with pork, has been created by Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) to educate Scottish families about the role of Scotch meat within a healthy balanced diet, from the highchair onwards.
The so-called “weaning videos” are based on recipes created by Good Family Food blogger and Great British Bake Off contestant, Holly Bell (pictured above).
The recipes, which focus on both full servings and finger food for babies, toddlers and families of four, are being promoted on QMS’s Good Family Food Facebook page with the aim of inspiring and encouraging families to introduce quality meat produce to their children’s daily diet from a young age.
“The introduction of protein rich foods, like Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork when weaning, is essential for babies’ growth and development as well as being an important source of iron needed to build babies’ iron levels,” said QMS health and education executive, Jenni Henderson.
“These videos are a great way to communicate this to a wide audience and show how quick and easy it is to cook with these quality products.”
