Former pop idol winner, Michelle McManus, launched a selection of new Specially Selected Pork (SSP) recipes at the recent Royal Highland Show as part of the “Do More with Pork” campaign which is being run by Quality Meat Scotland (QMS).
Ms McManus was joined by Aberdeenshire pig farmer, Philip Sleigh, to cook up some pork tikka kebabs at the show, encouraging show visitors to rediscover how simple and delicious quality assured pork from Scotland is.
“Scottish pig farmers take great pride in the pork they produce and it’s great to have Michelle’s support as part of the current campaign,” said Mr Sleigh, who runs a 400-sow unit near Inverurie, Grampian.
QMS marketing executive, Graeme Sharp, added: “This year’s campaign is very much building on the 42% brand recognition we already have with Scottish shoppers.
“It’s also about highlighting the versatility of the product, which is perfect for both mid-week meals and budget-friendly barbecues, with the latest collection of recipes including examples of simple, tasty pork dishes for all the family.”
