When Pig World spoke to BPEX director Mick Sloyan, one of the questions we put to him was whether the organisation had a role to play in helping pig producers market their stock more effectively. While he said this wasn’t part of BPEX’s remit, his comments on the way current contracts operate and the method used to calculate the DAPP were particularly interesting – especially now that the shout system looks to be disintegrating and the market is becoming less transparent.
