The eventual winners of the National Pig Awards will be exceptional individuals as the competition is looking very strong! There have been in excess of 60 entries across the board, and the first phase of judging already completed. Finalists, all of whom receive two free tickets to the gala dinner on Wednesday, November 4 at the Royal Garden Hotel, will be announced in the September issue, and the winners revealed on the night.
The chairman of judges, Stewart Houston, was very impressed with standard of the entries received.
“The first round of judging was incredibly challenging as the standard was so high,” he said. “In some categories we could have made a compelling case for every entrant to be shortlisted – unfortunately, some very good entries have not made the final. Congratulations to those who have!”
If last year is anything to go by, the evening itself is going to be a great night. The organisers have got their work cut out to provide entertainment to match Martin Bayfield (retired England rugby player and broadcaster) who thrilled the guests last year with tales of antics from both his rugby-playing days, and time as a police officer.
“Martin is a very hard act to follow, Pig World publisher John Lewis said, “however, we’re confident we’ll again provide an excellent evening’s entertainment. Last year we’d more than 250 people attend, and we’re hoping to beat that this year.’
Tickets and tables for the evening are now available and interested parties should contact Simon Lewis (simon@lewisbusinessmedia.co.uk). Tickets are priced at £165, or tables of 10 at £1,500.
