The NPA has begun for a new senior policy adviser, specialising in animal health and welfare, to replace Rebecca Veale, who will leave the association in August to join Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health.
The NPA states that it is looking for ‘a passionate and confident individual able to represent British pig producers in Westminster, throughout the supply chain, and to the media’.
“The role will put the successful candidate at the heart of fast-moving representational politics at a time of unprecedented change for this iconic sector. You will be part of a team known across the livestock industry for its ability to punch above its weight and to go ‘above and beyond’ in support of its members,” the job advert states.
The successful candidate will be responsible for animal health and welfare policy areas specifically but will be involved in others as necessary.
“Knowledge of the UK pig industry would be advantageous but not essential, above all, we are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual, with strong communication skills and an ability to grasp new policy areas quickly,” the advert continues.
The closing date for applications is Friday, June 23, 2023.
