A new ration formulation program that can produce optimised rations based on production forecasts and raw material supply has been launched in Beta Test mode.
The new service, called Cloud Rations, has been designed by Stephen Hiller and is being provided as an internet cloud service. That means there’s no capital outlay, no complicated downloads and no upgrade costs. The service is simply accessed via a web browser and will even operate on mobile devices.
Almost 12 months in the making, Cloud Rations can be used for free Beta Test mode until October 27. It has been designed to allow users to make the best use of the raw materials they have in stock, have purchased on contract, or have available in the market against their projected needs.
The service allows them to perform as many formulation runs as they need, making raw material substitutions or changes in production forecasts simple.
Mr Hiller told Pig World that during beta testing users are free to make use the results from the system free of charge, although he noted this is done at their own risk.
He added that if a user signed up to the service they would get an option to populate their own database with the existing demo pig rations on the system. These can then be amended to suit the user’s requirements.
Alternatively, users can start off with a blank database and enter all the data themselves.
Subscription costs for the service start at £30 for a month.
